On 13 March 2013, the Muslim Brotherhood released a statement opposing the UN declaration 'End Violence against Women' on the grounds that it would "undermine Islamic ethics and destroy the family", and "would lead to complete disintegration of society". - Wikipedia Yet I read in Gatestone that US government states that the Muslim Brotherhood takes a moderate stance? "There is growing concern in Ramallah, Cairo, Riyadh and Dubai that the U.S. Administration is working to prevent the collapse of Hamas.
"The Americans mistakenly think that moderate political Islam, which is represented by the Muslim Brotherhood, will be able to combat radical Islam. The Americans are trying to bring the Muslim Brotherhood back to the region." — Palestinian official, Ramallah."
Wikipedia - "The Muslim Brotherhood was founded in 1928 by Hassan al-Banna, an Egyptian schoolteacher, who preached implementing traditional Islamic Sharia law in all aspects of life, from everyday problems to the organization of the government."
Sharia law sure isn't atuned to western lifestyles.. and if the declaration of Violence against Women is considered breaking the fabric of family life and so must be opposed.. I think that we can safely consider that the sharia law isnt a moderate stance.

It certainly raises a few questions. In the game of chess this would be known as 'the middle game' were you would be strategically positioning yourself defensively and offensively, in order to gain the best leverage before the next phase known as 'end game'. On 13 March 2013, the Muslim Brotherhood released a statement opposing the UN declaration 'End Violence against Women' on the grounds that it would "undermine Islamic ethics and destroy the family", and "would lead to complete disintegration of society". - Wikipedia Never would have thought it would be so easy to undermine the integrity of the Islamic society fabric by simply not letting them able to oppress women, what a joke!

What offends me so much here is the UN declaration is VIOLENCE against women, not womens liberation or womens rights.. but violence.. and they oppose this because it would undermine their ethics.
Appalling...

I honestly am just as appalled/ bewildered by the utter contempt and inability to recognise that people deserve to be treated respectfully, humanely and equally. It would seem as though the ability to share this internationally recognised viewpoint has been lost in translation, because either they just don't get it, or they are unwilling to let something like respect, equality, freedom of expression tarnish the fundamentals of the Quran. The more I learn of this "religion of peace" the more I realise that it's only a religion of peace as long as you, do not speak against it, do not challenge it's views, allow violence against women, allow marriage and sexual advances against young girls, allow honour killings and the list goes on and on. So basically as long as everybody else tolerates this, Islam will be peaceful toward you. What a joke! I can only pray that this is the flaying violent reaction of a wounded and dying beast before it's demise.
