Luke 14:28-30. Jesus said, 28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? 29 For if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule you, 30 saying, ‘This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish.’
When I read this my thoughts are; if you are to commit to Jesus there is the cost of sacrificing the old ways. You will need money in the form of courage and perseverance to build the tower.
So in other words. Your foundation is Jesus and you are the tower. If you cannot sacrifice your old ways and you lack courage and perseverance you will never build this great tower that Jesus planned for you.

27: And whosoever does not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple The preceding verses seem to set the flow for the following verses. There is a cost involved in discipleship, that you must factor in. What is this cost? I found this reading on the scriptures and I think its good, not sure if the link works or whether I have done it okay? wesley.nnu.edu/fileadmin/imported_site/biblical_studies/parables/He-Lk14_28-32.htm

The link worked perfectly, nice work There's some great info to take in. Jesus seems to have so many facets, I love how his words are designed to make you think.

That's so true that His words make you think. I have been reading in my morning devotions a little section from "the church fathers" and some of the extracts I am reading regarding the scripture are written by people who lived in 300 or 400 AD and yet their thoughts on the particular scripture is just so real.
